Overview
YouTube Speed Controller is a Chrome extension that gives you precise control over YouTube playback speed. Open the popup and you’ll see a clean dashboard showing the current speed plus three ways to adjust it.
Pin the Extension (Optional but Recommended):
1. Click the puzzle piece icon in Chrome's toolbar
2. Find "YouTube Speed Controller"
3. Click the pin icon to keep it visible
Use the Extension:
1. Go to any YouTube video
2. Click the extension icon in your toolbar
3. Choose your preferred playback speed:
- Preset buttons: 0.25x to 3x
- Custom input: Any speed from 0.1x to 16x
- Slider: Fine-tune between 0.25x and 3x
Whatever speed you choose is stored automatically, so every new video starts at your preferred pace. Even when YouTube loads videos dynamically, the extension keeps the speed consistent. It’s an intuitive tool for slowing videos down to catch every detail or speeding them up to learn faster.
