Overview

Translate any webpage using your own AI API key — no subscriptions, no middleman.

WebTranslate connects directly to your LLM provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, or any OpenAI-compatible API). You control the model, the cost, and your data. All text stays between your browser and your API endpoint.

**What you can do:**

- Read foreign papers, documentation, and articles in your language
- Choose inline translation cards (appear below each paragraph) or a clean side panel
- Track tokens and estimated cost in real time as translation runs
- Download the translated page as Markdown with all images packed in a ZIP
- Translate anywhere — academic papers (arXiv), docs, blogs, Wikipedia

**What makes it different:**

No subscription required. Bring your own API key from OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, or any compatible provider. Your key never leaves your browser. Translation requests go directly to your configured endpoint.

**Getting started:**

1. Open the extension popup — enter your API URL, key, and model
2. Pick your target language
3. Browse any page — click the floating button — click Translate
