Overview
WebEcho is a Chrome extension for leaving lightweight templated messages directly on web pages.
It lets you place a message at a specific spot on a page, browse messages left by other users on the same page, and react with emoji. Messages stay anchored to their chosen positions, so they move naturally with the page as you scroll.
WebEcho is designed for quick expression rather than long comments. You can choose from preset templates, fill in slots, and publish short messages for hints, reactions, jokes, warnings, or shared observations.
Key features:
- Leave templated messages at specific positions on web pages
- View messages from other users on the same page
- React to messages with emoji and see reaction counts
- Search templates and options when composing
- Support multiple servers
- Switch theme and language in settings
- Disable WebEcho on specific pages
Privacy:
WebEcho does not upload the original page URL for page matching. Instead, it generates a derived page identifier locally to fetch and publish messages for the same page.
WebEcho is useful for lightweight page-based discussion, playful commentary, shared hints, and community reactions across the web.
