Overview

WA Privacy Screen keeps your WhatsApp Web conversations hidden from prying eyes — whether you're on a video call, presenting your screen, or working in a café.

Blur sensitive content with one click, then reveal any element instantly by hovering over it or focusing it with the keyboard.

Choose exactly what to hide — everything is opt-in:

• Contact & group names — sidebar list and conversation header
• Message previews — sidebar snippets and full message bubbles
• Profile pictures & avatars — throughout the interface
• Compose field — hide what you're typing in real time

Combine any targets. Use all four at once or just the ones that matter to you.

HOVER & FOCUS TO REVEAL

No clicks required. Move your cursor over any blurred element to read it — move away and it blurs again. Fully keyboard-accessible: Tab to focus, blur lifts automatically.

Set an idle timer and privacy mode re-engages automatically when you step away. Choose from 30 seconds, 1 minute, or 5 minutes.

HOW TO USE

1. Open WhatsApp Web (web.whatsapp.com)
2. Click the WA Privacy Screen icon in your Chrome toolbar to open the side panel
3. Toggle Privacy Mode on
4. Choose which elements to blur
5. Optionally set an auto-lock timer

Privacy mode persists across page reloads and browser restarts.
