VocabGlow helps you grow your English vocabulary naturally while you browse the web. Select a word, get a clean in-page explanation, listen to pronunciation, save useful meanings, and revisit your vocabulary later from a dedicated review list.

- Let you choose whether the lookup popup opens with detailed definitions or a shorter summary.

📖 Feature details

🔎 Instant word lookup
- Select a word on a webpage and click the helper icon that appears near the selection.
- Right-click selected text and use "Explain this word" from the context menu.
- The popup can show loading feedback, US and UK phonetic spelling, pronunciation audio, part of speech, up to 3 English definitions per part of speech, example sentences, synonyms, antonyms, and an optional translated meaning for your selected target language.
- Lookup content can be customized from Settings.
- The popup supports keyboard focus, Escape-to-close, and keyboard repositioning from the popup header.
- The "More definitions" button can open Cambridge Dictionary, Oxford Learner's Dictionaries, or Merriam-Webster, depending on your setting.

💾 Flexible save actions
- Save the full lookup result to your vocabulary list.
- Save a short summary using the first definition for each part of speech plus one synonym when available.
- Save only the translation when online translation is enabled.
- Edit the word, meaning, and category before saving.
- Update an existing saved word when you choose to replace a previous definition.

📚 Personal vocabulary list
- View recent saved words from the extension popup.
- See total saved words and words added today.
- Open the full vocabulary page to search and filter saved words.
- Organize words with categories.
- Edit words, meanings, and categories.
- Delete individual entries or clear the full list.
- Look up and save a word manually from the full vocabulary page.
- Play pronunciation audio for saved words when audio is available.
- Import words from CSV and export saved words to CSV.

🖍️ Highlight saved words across the web
- Automatically highlight saved vocabulary on webpages.
- Turn highlighting on or off from Settings.
- Choose a highlight style: Soft Glow, Marker, or Underline.
- Customize highlight background and text colors.
- Choose how many recent saved words are highlighted: 25, 50, 100, or 200.
- Highlights update when saved words or highlight settings change.

🔔 Review reminders
- Turn review reminders on or off from Settings.
- Choose a reminder interval: 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes, 2 hours, or 4 hours.
- Receive browser notifications with a saved word and meaning snippet.
- Click a reminder to open the full vocabulary list for review.

🌐 Languages and translation
- Turn online translation on or off from Settings.
- Choose a non-English target language for translated meanings from more than 100 supported languages.
- Translation support is designed to help English learners connect an English word with a meaning in their preferred language, while English definitions remain available when translation is off.

⚙️ Settings and support
- Customize lookup detail, pronunciation, examples, synonyms, antonyms, and detailed dictionary source.
- Adjust reminder settings, highlight settings, online translation, and target language from the Options page.
- Import, export, clear saved words, or reset settings.
- Use the popup or full-list page to open support links, rate the extension, or send a donation.

🔐 Privacy
- No analytics.
- No tracking.
- No ads.
- No personal data collection.
- No third-party data sharing.
- Saved vocabulary words and lookup cache are stored locally in your browser.
- User settings such as online translation preference, target language, reminder interval, lookup display preferences, and highlight preferences are stored using Chrome storage.
- Only the selected word or phrase is sent to dictionary or translation services when you request a lookup.
- Online translation is optional and can be disabled.

🚀 How it works
1. Select a word on a webpage.
2. Click the helper icon or use the right-click context menu.
3. Review the popup with pronunciation, definitions, examples, synonyms, antonyms, and optional online translation.
4. Save the full result, a short summary, only the translation, or an edited meaning to your list.
5. Revisit saved words from the popup, the full list page, page highlights, and reminder notifications.
