Overview
Vignette lets you read one part of a page without the noise of everything around it.
Click the toolbar icon (or press Ctrl+Shift+Y), then click any element on the page. Vignette shows only that element and hides the rest, so you can read it without the surrounding interface. Press Esc to put the page back exactly as it was.
Use it anywhere a page surrounds the thing you actually want to read with toolbars, sidebars, ads, comments, or other clutter: an article, a forum or comment thread, a section of documentation, a code block, a single panel on a dashboard, a long table, or a newsletter open in an email client.
How to use it:
- Hover to highlight the element under the cursor.
- Use the Up and Down arrow keys to grow or shrink the selection when the part you want is nested inside other elements.
- Click (or press Enter) to isolate it.
- While reading, press + or - to change the column width, or F for full width.
- Press Esc or the close button to exit.
Vignette leaves the element in place and hides the rest of the page, so the content keeps its own fonts, colors, and layout. It does not rebuild or re-style the page the way a typical reader mode does.
