Overview
Claude usage overlay with privacy-safe usage metadata. Context size is an estimate.
Description
Claude usage overlay with privacy-safe usage metadata.
Claude Usage Bar adds a compact, native-feeling usage indicator directly into the Claude.ai website so you can keep an eye on your Claude plan usage and current chat context without leaving the conversation, along with a chat cache prediction timer.
Features:
- Compact usage bar pinned to the top of Claude.ai
- Hover panel with Claude plan usage details (5-hour limit, weekly all-models, weekly Claude Opus, Routines)
- Circular context indicator for the current chat
- Context size is read from Claude's own conversation data when available, and falls back to a local character-based estimate otherwise — the displayed value is approximate, not a guarantee
- Prompt-cache prediction timer that counts down a 5-minute cache window after each assistant turn
- Uses your existing authenticated Claude browser session for usage statistics
- Stores only sanitized usage metadata and numeric estimates to stay privacy safe
- No prompt, response, cookie, or auth data is stored
- Claude Usage Tracker
About the context indicator: token counting on the web is not exact. When you are inside a chat, the extension asks Claude's own conversation endpoint for token-shaped fields and uses those numbers when they are present. When that data is not available (a brand new chat, an endpoint change, or a network hiccup), it falls back to a character-count estimate that does not include the system prompt, attachments, or other hidden context. Treat the percentage as a rough indicator, not an authoritative measurement.
