Timestamp Chatter For You
View on Chrome Web StoreChrome will indicate if you already have this installed.
Overview
Timestamp Chatter brings timestamped YouTube comments directly into the video experience.
It scans YouTube comments for timestamps (like 0:42, 2:15, 1:03:20) and syncs them with playback, so comments appear on-screen at the exact moment they reference.
What it does:
• Shows timestamped comments as on-video notifications while you watch
• Adds timeline markers so you can see where timestamped moments happen
• Optional heatmap view to visualize timestamp activity across the video
• Click a notification or marker to jump back to that moment in the video
• Works with highly customizable skins/themes and visual styles
• Includes a built-in skin/theme editor for advanced customization
• Supports notification visibility controls, filtering, and timing controls
Comment functionality:
• Open an in-video timestamp comment draft popup with Cmd+Shift+A (macOS) or Ctrl+Shift+A (Windows/Linux)
• The draft is prefilled with the current video timestamp
• Use quick controls to nudge the timestamp and sync it to the exact moment you want
• “Post comment” or Cmd+Enter (macOS) or Ctrl+Enter (Windows/Linux) inserts your draft into YouTube’s comment composer
Customization highlights:
• Multiple rarity/skin themes
• Timeline marker styling by tier
• Notification size, opacity, brightness, and layout controls
• Per-tab quick menu controls directly on the YouTube player
• Minimal mode and advanced tuning options
Privacy / data use:
Timestamp Chatter reads YouTube page/player state and public YouTube comment data needed to provide its features. It fetches comments from YouTube endpoints only and does not require a separate backend service.
If you watch timestamp-heavy videos and want a faster way to follow what comments are reacting to, Timestamp Chatter turns the comments into a synchronized viewing layer.
