Stremio Companion

Stremio Companion is a productivity tool for Stremio users. It connects your browsing with your media library so you can open movies and TV shows in Stremio instantly — without manual searching.

KEY FEATURES

1) Google Search Integration:
When you search on Google, Stremio Companion detects movies and TV shows and adds a “Watch on Stremio” button inside areas like the Knowledge Panel and “Where to watch” sections. Click once to open the title in Stremio.

2) Right-Click Search (Works Anywhere):
Found a movie or series recommendation on Reddit, a blog, or any website?
Highlight the title, right-click, and select: “Search/Open in Stremio”

3) Keyboard Shortcuts:
• Highlight & open instantly:
Alt + S (macOS: Option + S)

4) Address bar search:
Type “str” then press Space or Tab to search Stremio directly from anywhere.

5) Desktop App Mode or Web Mode
Choose how you want titles to open from the extension popup:
• Desktop App Mode: Opens in the Stremio desktop app
• Web Mode: Opens in web.stremio.com

PRIVACY & PERMISSIONS

Privacy-first. No tracking.

Permissions used:
• Host permissions (*.google.com):
Only to inject the “Watch on Stremio” button into Google Search pages.
• Context Menus:
Used to add the right-click search option.
• ActiveTab:
Used to read selected text only when you trigger the shortcut or context menu.

Note: This extension uses the public Cinemeta API to match titles to IMDb IDs. Results depend on available metadata.
