Overview
SoE Helper is a Chrome extension for UW-Madison School of Education students, faculty, and staff. It combines quick access to UW KnowledgeBase articles with live DoIT outage and planned maintenance alerts.
OUTAGES TAB (default)
- Live DoIT Unplanned Outages and Planned Maintenance feeds
- Red badge count shows open outages at a glance
- Auto-refreshes every 5 minutes in the background
- Manual refresh button
- Closed outages shown with a grey "Closed" indicator
KB TAB
- Browse KnowledgeBase articles for the School of Education and UW KB
- Filter by category: All, Top, Network, Printing, Remote, Software, Security
- Instant keyword search across all articles
- Copy any article link to clipboard with one click
- Get Help — opens the MERIT IT Help Desk request form
