Social9 helps marketing teams generate authentic, human-sounding reply suggestions for forum posts across five major platforms: Reddit, Quora, Hacker News, Product Hunt, and LinkedIn.

Powered by Google's Gemini AI, the extension reads the context of a forum post — its title, body, existing comments, and engagement metrics — and generates multiple reply variations tailored to your brand voice and each platform's unique culture. You always review and decide whether to use each suggestion.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Set up your brand profile — Enter your company name, industry, brand voice, expertise areas, and key talking points. Or paste your website URL and let the AI auto-analyze it to fill in your profile.

2. Add your Gemini API key — Bring your own Google Gemini API key. Your key is stored locally on your device and never sent anywhere except directly to Google's API.

3. Visit a supported forum — "Suggest Reply" buttons appear next to posts on Reddit, Quora, Hacker News, Product Hunt, and LinkedIn.

4. Click "Suggest Reply" — The extension analyzes the post context and generates up to 5 reply variations, each with a different angle (personal experience, useful insight, thought-provoking counterpoint, engaging question, or related anecdote).

5. Review, copy, or paste — Read through the suggestions, pick the one you like, and either copy it to your clipboard or insert it directly into the forum's reply box.

PLATFORM-SPECIFIC INTELLIGENCE

Each platform has its own culture, tone, and unwritten rules. Social9 understands these differences:

- Reddit: Casual, conversational tone. Uses community vernacular. Respects the 10:1 self-promotion guideline. Supports markdown formatting.
- Quora: Authoritative yet personal. First-person narratives with structured, comprehensive answers.
- Hacker News: Direct, intellectual, no-fluff. Technical precision with plain text only. Avoids anything that risks community penalties.
- Product Hunt: Supportive and constructive. Specific feedback about products. Concise and maker-community friendly.
- LinkedIn: Professional but genuine. Thought leadership without corporate jargon. Supports hashtags and mentions.

BUILT-IN QUALITY CONTROLS

Every generated reply passes through an automatic quality gate that scans for 80+ AI-detectable phrases — generic openers like "Great question!", filler transitions like "Furthermore" and "Moreover", and corporate buzzwords like "leverage" and "synergy." Flagged phrases are automatically rewritten to sound more natural before being shown to you.

Each reply variation includes a confidence score (1-10) indicating how relevant it is to the post, along with a description of the approach taken, so you can quickly choose the best option.

Configure your brand identity once, and every suggestion reflects it:

Company name and industry context
Brand voice description (e.g., "Technical but approachable" or "Casual and community-oriented")
Expertise areas — topics your team can speak to authentically
Key talking points — messages woven naturally into replies, never forced
Target audience — guides tone and topic selection
Transparency toggle — optionally include affiliation disclosure to stay compliant with forum guidelines
You can also use the website auto-analysis feature: enter your company URL, and the AI extracts your brand profile from your site content.

HISTORY & ANALYTICS
Comment History: Review your last 20 generated replies, see which platform they were for, whether they were copied or inserted, and when they were created.
Analytics Dashboard: Track total replies generated, replies used, usage rate, and per-platform breakdown.

PRIVACY & DATA
Your Gemini API key is stored locally on your device only — never synced or sent to any server other than Google's Gemini API.
Brand profile and settings sync across your own Chrome instances via Chrome's built-in sync storage.
Comment history and analytics are stored locally on your device.
No data is collected, sold, or transferred to third parties.
The extension only activates on the five supported platforms and only reads content you explicitly interact with.

GETTING STARTED
1. Install the extension
2. Click the Social9 icon in your toolbar
3. Fill in your brand profile (or auto-analyze your website)
4. Go to Settings, enter your Gemini API key (free from Google AI Studio), and test the connection
5. Visit any supported forum and start generating replies
