SmartPace is a side panel extension that uses Anthropic Claude AI to analyze YouTube video captions and automatically set the optimal playback speed for each segment.

■ How it works

1. Open any YouTube video and click the SmartPace icon — the side panel opens.
2. Enter your Claude API key once and click "Analyze."
3. AI splits the video into 6~12 segments:
- Key segments (1.1~1.3×) — first appearance of important concepts
- Normal segments (1.9~2.1×) — explanations, examples
- Filler segments (up to 2.0×) — intros, outros, repetition, ads
4. As playback crosses segment boundaries, speed switches automatically.

Pick the analysis tone that matches the content:
- Lecture / Education
- Documentary
- Talk / Interview
- Tutorial
- News

■ Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)

SmartPace uses your own Anthropic API key. The key is stored only in Chrome local storage; analysis costs are billed to your own Anthropic account. No proxy server in between.

■ Privacy

- All communication happens directly from your browser to YouTube · Anthropic
- No viewing history, no analysis results stored externally
- No ads, no tracking, no telemetry

■ Limitations

- YouTube's IFrame API caps playback at 2.0×.
- Videos without captions cannot be analyzed.
- Some auto-generated captions may be unstable.
