Slit-Scan Editor is a Chrome extension that brings the classic slit-scan photography technique to your browser and lets you create dynamic motion streaks to static images. Perfect for photography, design work, and creative projects.

Important:
After installing go to ⋮ (menu) → Extensions → Manage Extensions.
Find Slit-Scan Editor in the list.
Click Details, then toggle Pin to toolbar.

Global Slit-Scan Effect:
Enable Slit-Scan Effect toggle for full-width effect
Base Position: Set the horizontal scan line (0-100%)
Intensity: Control effect strength (0-100%)
Streak Length: Adjust vertical blur distance (0-100%)

Vertical Strip Stack (Up to 7 Strips):
Enable the Vertical Strip Stack toggle to activate strips
Press + to add strips, × to clear all
Press 1-7 keys to quickly select strips
After selecting, adjust each strip independently
(Set Base Position of GSS Effect to 0)

Horizontal Position: Move strip left-right
Vertical Position: Set individual scan line height
Width: Adjust strip thickness

Precision Strip Control (Arrow Keys):
Right Arrow: Expand strip width to the right (+1px)
Left Arrow: Expand strip width to the left (+1px)
Up Arrow: Shrink strip from the left (-1px
Down Arrow: Shrink strip from the right (-1px)

This extension does not collect, store, transmit, or share any user information or data of any kind.

All image processing occurs entirely on your local device:
Images you upload are processed in your browser's memory only
Images are NEVER uploaded to any external server
Images are NEVER stored by the extension
When you close the editor, all image data is immediately discarded
