Overview
Instructions for using the "Mgid SingleJS Selector Helper" plugin
Activate the plugin:
Click on the plugin icon in your browser. In the window that appears, click the "Start" button.
Select an element on the page:
Hover your mouse over the article container. The selected element will be highlighted in red. Click on the item to lock the selection.
Customize the selection using the keyboard:
Use the arrows on the keyboard to fine-tune:
Down arrow - move to the next neighbor on the same level.
Up arrow - move to the previous neighbor on the same level.
Right arrow - go deeper into the first nested element.
Left arrow - exit to the parent element.
When the desired element is selected, press Enter to confirm the selection.
Copy the selector:
After confirmation, a unique selector will be automatically generated and copied to the clipboard.
Result:
Use the copied selector in your tasks (e.g. simple js, etc.).
in the new version of the plugin added:
“Auto-Select” button
improved algorithm of selector compilation (uniqueness and length)
added alternative method of copying a selector to clipboard (when clipboard API is not available on the site)
