WHAT YOU GET

SEO Manager organizes everything into four focused tabs:

SEO DATA
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The SEO Data tab displays the most important on-page meta information at a glance:

• Title tag — the exact title text, including its character count, so you can see immediately if it fits within search engine limits
• Meta Description — the full meta description text with character count
• URL — the current page address
• Canonical URL — the canonical link tag, with a direct "Open URL" link if the canonical differs from the current address
• Robots — the meta robots value (index/noindex, follow/nofollow, and any custom directives)
• Language — the HTML lang attribute declared on the page
• Keywords, Author, and Publisher — optional fields that can be shown or hidden in settings

Empty or missing fields are clearly labeled "Not defined", so gaps are visible at a glance without having to read source code.

Directly below the meta description, a link takes you to the Seobility SERP Snippet Generator, pre-loaded with the current URL, so you can preview and optimize your title and meta description right away.

ISSUES
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The Issues tab runs 17 automated SEO checks every time you open the popup. Issues are sorted by severity so the most critical problems always appear first.

HIGH severity (critical — fix immediately):
• Title tag is missing or empty
• Multiple title tags found on the same page
• Page is blocked from indexing (noindex directive active)
• No H1 heading found
• Multiple H1 headings found

MEDIUM severity (important — address soon):
• Title is too long (over 60 characters)
• Title contains only a single word
• Meta description is missing or empty

LOW severity (worth fixing):
• Meta description is too long (over 160 characters)
• Multiple meta description tags found
• Title contains a repeated word
• No favicon found
• One or more images are missing their alt attribute
• H1 heading is only a single word
• H1 heading is too short (under 20 characters)

WARNINGS (informational):
• Page is using HTTP instead of HTTPS
• URL contains parameters but no canonical tag is set (possible duplicate content risk)

Each issue is shown with a color-coded severity badge (red for high, amber for medium, gray for low, blue for warning). Some issues include an explanatory tooltip with additional context and guidance on how to fix the problem.

If no issues are detected, the tab displays a green checkmark confirming that all checks passed.

The Issues tab tab button updates dynamically to show a color indicator (red circle, yellow circle, or green circle) based on the highest severity issue found — so you can see the health of a page at a glance, even before clicking into the tab.

At the bottom of the Issues tab, a link takes you to the full Seobility SEO Check for the current URL, where you can run a deeper crawl-based audit.

HEADINGS
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The Headings tab gives you a complete picture of the heading structure of any page.

At the top, a count summary shows how many H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, and H6 headings appear on the page. Below it, every heading is listed in document order, visually indented to reflect the hierarchy: H1 at full width, H2 slightly indented, H3 further in, and so on. Font
sizes also scale by heading level so the structure is easy to read at a glance.

Each heading row shows:
• The heading tag (H1–H6) as a monospaced badge
• The full heading text (or "(empty)" if the element contains no visible text)
• A ⚠️ warning icon with a tooltip explaining the problem, if a structural issue is detected

The heading validation checks four structural rules:
• The first heading on the page should be an H1
• No more than one H1 heading should be present
• Heading levels should not be skipped (e.g. jumping from H2 directly to H4)
• All heading levels must be valid (1–6)

Each rule can be individually enabled or disabled in the extension settings.

By default, headings are scanned within the main element of the page. You can switch to scanning the full body in settings — useful for pages that do not use the main landmark element.

The Headings tab button displays a ⚠️ indicator whenever structural heading issues are found, so you never miss a broken hierarchy.

TOOLS

The Tools tab provides quick one-click access to useful SEO tools, all pre-loaded with the current page URL where applicable:

Free Tools by Seobility:
• SEO Check — full on-page and technical SEO audit
• Ranking Check — see which keywords a domain ranks for
• Backlink Check — explore the backlink profile of the current domain
• Keyword Research Tool — discover keyword ideas and search volumes

Other Tools:
• Rich Results Test (Google) — check if the page is eligible for rich results / structured data
• PageSpeed Insights Test (Google) — measure Core Web Vitals and loading performance

DYNAMIC EXTENSION ICON
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The extension icon in the Chrome toolbar changes color based on the most severe issue found on the active page:

• Red icon — at least one high-severity issue (missing title, noindex, missing H1, etc.)
• Yellow icon — at least one medium-severity issue (title too long, missing description, etc.)
• Default icon — no high or medium issues detected

This means you can browse any site and know its SEO health at a glance, without even opening the popup.

FULLY CONFIGURABLE

Open the extension options to customize it to your workflow:

SEO Data fields:
• Show or hide optional fields: Keywords, Author, Publisher, and Language

Issue checks:
• Toggle individual checks on or off — useful if certain issues are intentional (e.g. noindex on staging pages, or pages that legitimately use HTTP internally)

Headings:
• Choose between scanning headings inside the main element only, or across the entire body
• Enable or disable each heading structure rule independently

Language & Seobility account:
• Set your preferred language (English, German, or Spanish) — Seobility tool links will point to the correct localized version
• If you have a Seobility account, enter your API key to connect the extension to your account and run deeper SEO checks directly from the Issues tab

PRIVACY
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

SEO Manager reads page data directly from your browser — no page content is transmitted to any server. The only external connections made are when you explicitly click one of the tool links, or when the Seobility API is used (only if you enter an API key in
settings). Your settings are stored locally using Chrome's built-in sync storage.
