Scam Detect

This Chrome extension enhances user safety on X (formerly Twitter) by automatically highlighting tweets that may contain scam-like or phishy content. Using an AI-powered backend, the extension scans visible English tweets and overlays a visual warning when potentially deceptive or harmful content is detected.

The goal is not to block or censor content, but to provide subtle, informative alerts so users can make more informed decisions before engaging with links, donation requests, or suspicious offers.

This extension is developed as part of an academic research project focused on real-time scam detection and user protection in social media environments. Feedback interactions (thumbs up/down) are anonymously logged to improve future versions of the detection model.

No personal data is collected, and all processing is performed for research and testing purposes only.
