All analysis happens locally in your browser.

SafeExtensions does not send any data to external servers and does not include analytics, tracking, or telemetry. Your scan results stay on your device.

PERMISSIONS USED

SafeExtensions requests only the permissions required to work:

management
Used to read the list of installed extensions and their declared permissions.

storage
Used to store scan results locally so the extension does not need to rescan every time.

The extension does not access browsing history, website content, or personal data.

IMPORTANT NOTE

SafeExtensions focuses on transparency, not malware detection. A lower score does not necessarily mean an extension is malicious. It simply indicates that the extension has broader permissions or behaviors that could affect privacy.

Many legitimate extensions require extensive permissions to function. This tool helps you understand what access you have granted so you can decide which extensions you trust.
