Ratevault — Private Curre
View on Chrome Web StoreChrome will indicate if you already have this installed.
Overview
RateVault is a fast, private currency converter that lives in your toolbar — convert across 80+ world currencies without ads, accounts, or the tracking that plagues other converters.
What you can do:
• Quick convert — type an amount, pick two currencies and see the result instantly, with a clear inverse-rate line.
• Pinned Rate Board — pin the currencies you care about and convert one amount into all of them at once in Chrome's side panel.
• Converter Studio — a full page to multi-convert, browse a searchable rate table, and print a two-way travel cheat sheet.
• Right-click convert — select a price on any page, right-click "Convert selection" and get the result in a notification. Only the text you select is read.
• Offline-ready — ships with a built-in rate snapshot and refreshes automatically in the background; always shows the date your rates are from.
• Gets numbers right — robust handling of "1,234.56" vs "1.234,56" vs "1 234,56", plus your choice of decimal places and separators (the fix for the wrong-decimal and "NaN" bugs in other converters).
Private by design: your conversions, pinned currencies and settings stay in your browser (chrome.storage.local). RateVault has no account, no ads and no tracking. It makes only plain GET requests to its own site for public exchange-rate numbers and a small display-config — never any personal data, browsing history, or page contents.
Permissions are minimal: storage, alarms (rate refresh), contextMenus + notifications (right-click convert), sidePanel (the Rate Board) and commands (shortcuts), plus a single host permission for the rates/display-config fetch. No content scripts, no remote code.
