Overview
A browser extension that just makes rain fall on your browser. It is genuinely useless.
■ What it does
- Realistic raindrops form on the page (background subtly blurs through them)
- Pick from drizzle, light rain, rain, heavy rain, downpour, thunderstorm, or snow
- Press the wiper button at the bottom-right and a wiper sweeps it all away
- ESC key also triggers the wiper
- Optional real-weather sync (turns rain on automatically based on your saved location)
- Rain and wiper sounds, with independent volume sliders
- Lite mode for low-end machines (long-press the wiper button)
■ Controls
- Click the extension icon → settings (rain type, location, volume)
- Wiper button at the bottom-right of the page → click to wipe
- ESC key → wipe
- Shift-click wiper button → toggle sound
- Double-click wiper button → toggle auto-wiper
- Long-press wiper button → toggle lite mode
■ About real-weather sync
Optionally uses Open-Meteo's free weather API.
Only the location name you entered is transmitted. No personal identifiers are sent.
If you do not enable this option, no network requests are made.
■ Known limitations
- Does not run on chrome://, Chrome Web Store, and a few other restricted URLs (Chrome platform restriction)
- Maximum of 60 raindrops on screen (performance safeguard)
- backdrop-filter may not work in older browsers
■ Privacy
- No browsing history, form input, or cookies are collected
- Data is only sent to Open-Meteo (weather + geocoding)
- See the privacy policy for details
