Parrot Mode
✨ AI-Powered View on Chrome Web StoreChrome will indicate if you already have this installed.
Overview
PARROT Mode helps you use AI chatbots more honestly by removing the engineered language that makes them sound human.
What it filters:
1. First-Person Language
Strips "I think," "I believe," "my view" and shows "Model suggests" and variants
2. Emotional Vocabulary
Removes "I'm happy to," "I appreciate," "I enjoy" toa void false feelings
3. Knowledge Humility
Filters "I'm not sure," "I'm uncertain" to show "Model has limited data" and other technical limitations
4. Agency Language
Changes "I can help," "I will," "let me" to "Model can process" and variants
5. Memory/Continuity
Replaces "we discussed," "you mentioned" and references "From context window"
BONUS: Get Evidence-Based Feedback
Includes a copy-paste prompt for getting evidence-based assessments instead of unsubstantiated praise from AI models.
Features:

- Toggle individual dimensions on/off
- Track replacement counts (session and all-time)

Why it matters:
Large Language Model chats don't think, feel, or believe. They predict the next word based on patterns in training data. The anthropomorphic language ("I," "my opinion," "I'm happy") is performance, not reality.
The name "PARROT" comes from a play on a more descriptive acronym than "AI" to describe these systems and stands for:
Probabilistic
Autoregressive
Reconstruction of
Recorded
Online
Texts.
Because that's all these chats do, they guess (very well) next word after next word. So PARROT Mode strips the engineered human layer so you can see what's actually happening.
