Captures the entire webpage as a single high-resolution image, including content below the fold. PageLens scrolls and stitches the page automatically, hiding sticky headers and fixed elements for a clean result.

Draw a custom selection on any part of the page. Precise crop handles let you define the exact area. Perfect for isolating a specific section without post-capture cropping.

Hover over any DOM element to highlight it, then click to capture it as a standalone image. PageLens snaps precisely to the element boundaries using getBoundingClientRect — no manual alignment needed.

Captures any element and extracts its clean HTML structure in the same image. The code panel shows syntax-highlighted markup directly below the visual capture. Useful for developers reviewing component structure or QA teams documenting bugs.

Sets a countdown before the capture fires. Use it to capture tooltips, hover states, dropdown menus, and any dynamic UI element that disappears when you interact with the popup. The delay duration is adjustable in the settings panel.

Picks the exact color of any pixel on the page and copies the hex code to clipboard. Useful for designers extracting colors from live websites without switching to a separate tool.

SETTINGS PANEL

PageLens includes a built-in settings panel accessible directly from the popup.

Display mode: switch between icon grid view and labeled list view depending on your preference. Auto-copy clipboard: toggle automatic clipboard copy on or off after each capture. Capture delay: adjust the delay duration for the Delayed Capture mode using a slider. Notification position: configure where the post-capture toast appears on the screen.

AFTER EVERY CAPTURE

Every capture mode automatically copies the result to your clipboard as a PNG image. A toast notification confirms the copy with a Save button and a 10-second auto-dismiss timer. Save as PNG for lossless quality or as PDF using the browser's native print engine.

PRIVACY AND SECURITY

PageLens runs entirely inside your browser. No data is ever sent to external servers. No browsing history is tracked. No page content is uploaded or stored remotely. All processing happens locally using native Chrome extension APIs.

Permissions used: activeTab to access the current tab on explicit user action, scripting to inject the overlay interface, clipboardWrite to copy captures to clipboard, offscreen for canvas processing, storage to save user preferences, and downloads to save files locally.

Built with Chrome Manifest V3. Compatible with Chrome 110+, Microsoft Edge 110+, Brave, Arc, Opera, Vivaldi, and all Chromium-based browsers. Keyboard shortcut: Alt+S. Output format: PNG and PDF. File naming: pagelens-YYYY-MM-DD-HHmm.png. No external dependencies, no CDN calls, no remote code execution.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is PageLens free? Yes. All 10 capture modes are free and will remain free. Future Pro features such as annotation, OCR, and batch capture will be optional paid upgrades.

Does PageLens work on all websites? PageLens works on the vast majority of websites. Browser-internal pages (chrome://, edge://) and PDF viewer pages cannot be accessed by Chrome extensions due to browser security restrictions.

Does full-page capture work on infinite scroll pages? Full-page capture works on standard scrollable pages. Infinite scroll pages may produce partial results depending on how much content has loaded at the time of capture.

Can I capture authenticated pages? Yes. PageLens captures what is visible in your browser. If you are logged in, it captures the authenticated view.

Is there a usage limit? No. PageLens has no usage limits.
