Overview

OpenWhen helps you automatically open web pages at the times you choose — and shows a short, unobtrusive reminder banner so you don't forget why a page opened.

How it works

Create schedules (one‑time [no other extension does this!], daily, weekly, monthly) and point them at any URL.
OpenWhen uses the browser's alarm system to open pages at the scheduled time in a new tab or window, as active or in the background.
When a scheduled page opens, a lightweight in‑page banner explains the reason (your message) [no other extension does this!] and can be dismissed immediately.

Why you'll like it

Save time: automate opening pages you need at specific moments (work dashboards, bill pay pages, research reading).
Non‑intrusive: the reminder banner is minimal and dismissible; it doesn't spam or track.
Local-only data: schedules are stored in your browser via chrome.storage.local — nothing is sent to external servers.

Core features

🆕Multiple daily times: Configure a daily schedule to trigger at several times in the same day.
🆕Edit from banner: Click "edit" directly in the in‑page reminder banner to update the schedule without leaving the page.
🆕Delete with undo: Delete a schedule from the banner with a short undo window to prevent accidental removal.
Window Mode: Schedule multiple tabs from your current window.
Schedule any URL: once, daily, weekly (select days), or monthly (select day).
Optional message per schedule that appears in a small in‑page banner when the page opens.
Context menu helpers to quickly prefill a schedule from a link or the current page.
Popup, options page, and side panel for quick access and editing.
Stop-after/run-count support to limit repeated opens.
Works offline and respects your browser settings (runs via Manifest V3 service worker).
Opens missed schedules (if your browser was closed or your computer was off) as soon as possible, and informs that it was a missed schedule.

Privacy & security

OpenWhen stores schedule data locally in your browser only. It does not make network requests or send your data to external servers. Required permissions are limited to browser APIs needed for functionality: storage, alarms, tabs, windows, and context menus. See the privacy policy for full details.

How to get started

Open the extension (toolbar popup) or options page.
Create a schedule: enter a URL (if from toolbar, the current tab will be used), choose frequency, and add an optional message.
Test a single schedule using a near-future time or use the context menu to prefill a URL.
Use the options page to edit, search, or remove schedules.

Support & feedback

If you find bugs or want features, open an issue at the project repository (link in the extension page) or contact the developer via the support email in the store listing.
