Overview
MediaNab helps you detect media on pages you visit and route explicit save actions through the browser or the optional local Companion.
The popup keeps the workflow compact: detected items, available quality choices, queue state, progress, and completed local actions stay in one place. When Companion is connected, MediaNab can save supported media to a chosen local folder, open completed files, and handle local processing workflows that the browser alone cannot finish.
The Chrome Web Store build follows Chrome Web Store policy and excludes policy-restricted platform download and recording features. Direct media and supported adaptive streams remain available where the user has access and the site allows the browser or Companion workflow to process them.
MediaNab does not bypass DRM and does not grant access to restricted content. Site behavior can vary because of custom players, DRM, short-lived tokens, account sessions, or site-specific restrictions.
MediaNab is local-first. It does not operate an analytics server, advertising SDK, account system, or download-history server. Optional Cookie auth is off by default and is not shown in the Chrome Web Store build unless policy-enabled features are available in another distribution channel.
