Location Flags For X Twit
View on Chrome Web StoreChrome will indicate if you already have this installed.
Overview
Twitter Location Flag adds a small country or region flag next to usernames on X (Twitter), based on the account’s public "Based in" profile location.
🧭 What it does
• Detects the "Based in" location from public profiles on X/Twitter
• Maps locations (countries, cities, and some regions) to a flag emoji
• Shows a flag next to usernames in tweets, profiles, and hover cards
• Caches locations locally so you don’t hit rate limits or slow down your browsing
⚙️ Features
• Works on both twitter.com and x.com
• Lightweight: no external servers, everything runs in your browser
• Optional caching with a "Clear cache" button in the popup
• On/off toggle in the popup - you stay in control
• Designed to be unobtrusive and blend with the X/Twitter UI
🔐 Privacy
• No data is sent to any external server by this extension
• No tracking, no analytics, no ads
• All cached location data is stored locally in your browser and can be cleared at any time
• The extension only uses the "storage" permission, and only for its own settings and cache
💡 Notes
• Flags are best-effort based on the text in the "Based in" field
• Some users don’t set a location, or use jokes/memes - in those cases no flag may be shown
• This extension is not affiliated with, associated with, or endorsed by X Corp. or Twitter
