Overview

Live Translate captures audio from any browser tab and shows real-time translated subtitles as an overlay.

HOW IT WORKS:

1. Click Start on any tab playing audio/video
2. Audio is transcribed using OpenAI Whisper (best multilingual STT)
3. Text is translated using your choice of AI model
4. Translated subtitles appear as a floating overlay

FEATURES:
• 35+ languages supported (Tamil, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, and more)
• Adjustable chunk duration (1s to 10s) for speed vs accuracy tradeoff
• Show original + translated text side by side
• Configurable subtitle position and size
• Works on YouTube, Netflix, podcasts, video calls — any tab with audio

PROVIDERS SUPPORTED:
• Speech-to-Text: OpenAI Whisper (~$0.006/min)
• Translation: OpenRouter (free models available), OpenAI, Google Gemini
