Overview
Kwel is a Chrome extension designed to automatically surface information in your browsing history that is worth intentionally keeping.
Browsing history is a raw log. It records everything, but it does not distinguish between noise and meaningful work. Kwel adds a value layer on top of your history.
Instead of listing pages in simple chronological order, Kwel analyzes signals such as repeat visits, recency, and intentional access (direct URL typing) to identify pages that are likely important to you. The goal is not to save everything, but to extract pages that represent ongoing thinking, research, or active work.
Core functionality:
• Value-Based Extraction Automatically identifies pages that show patterns of intentional and repeated use, surfacing them as candidates worth keeping.
• Hot Ranking Ranks pages based on behavioral signals so high-value pages rise to the top.
• Fast Search Quickly find important pages without scrolling through long history logs.
• Context-Preserving View Highlight related pages across different domains without changing layout or losing your place.
Kwel does not replace Chrome History. It builds an intelligent filtering layer that helps you resume work faster and maintain continuity across sessions.
Permissions:
history: Required to read your local browsing history in order to analyze usage patterns and extract high-value pages.
Privacy: All analysis and ranking are performed locally on your device. No browsing history is transmitted to external servers. No cloud sync or third-party analytics is required for core functionality.
