Kanji Lens Japanese Manga

Overview
Kanji Lens is a browser extension that helps you memorize kanji directly from manga panels.
Instead of studying from dry word lists, you learn kanji in context: from the manga panels you’re already reading. The extension scans each panel, extracts the kanji from the image, and shows you readings, meanings, and furigana directly on top of the manga page. Any kanji you tap can be saved and reviewed later with a built‑in spaced‑repetition system. Each kanji is color‑coded by progress (Difficult, Learning, or Mastered), so you can instantly see which Kanji still need work and which ones you’ve already mastered.
What it does
OCR for manga panels
Automatically detects images on the page and extracts Japanese text using OCR. No need to copy or retype anything.
Kanji‑focused overlays
Highlight kanji in the panel and see their readings (on/kun), core meanings, and furigana in a clean overlay while you keep reading.
One‑click kanji saving
Save kanji you don’t know yet with a single click while you read. There’s no need to open any external website or app – you add kanji directly from the manga page without leaving what you’re reading, and they’re added to your personal study list automatically.
Spaced‑repetition reviews
Review saved kanji with an integrated SRS that tracks your progress and schedules cards for optimal memorization.
Custom mnemonics
Add or edit mnemonics for each kanji so you can remember tricky characters in your own words.
Progress dashboard
See how many kanji you’ve learned from manga, which ones are due today, and which are still difficult.
