Overview
Kanji Flashcard Exporter uses Claude AI or OpenAI (using your own API token) to scan Japanese text on any webpage, generate hiragana readings and English translations for every kanji word found, and export a ready-to-import flashcard file — no copy-pasting, no manual lookup. Perfect for JLPT N5 to N1 learners who want to turn real content into study material without interrupting their reading flow.
How it works
- Visit any Japanese webpage — news, JLPT lists, Wikipedia, manga, anything
- To scan a specific passage: highlight the text → right-click → "Scan selection for kanji"
- To scan the whole page: click the 漢字 icon in your Chrome toolbar
- Enter your Anthropic or OpenAI API key (one-time setup)
- Choose how many words to scan (default: 50)
- Hit Scan — AI generates readings in seconds
- Export and start studying immediately
