HOW THE TRUST SCORE WORKS

The score uses peak-axis aggregation: a single strong signal (say, a 92% visual match against a known AliExpress product) pulls the score down even if the rest of the listing looks clean. Aggregation runs locally via Chrome Prompt API where available; the extension falls back to a cloud LLM only when on-device AI is unavailable.

CROSS-PLATFORM IMAGE MATCHING

We maintain an indexed catalog of AliExpress and Temu products and reverse-image-search every listing against it. Two engines run in parallel:

• Perceptual hash (pHash) — catches exact reuploads, even after resize or recompression
• CLIP visual embedding — catches near-duplicates: same product, slightly different angle or lighting
