Overview
HashLab — Because every developer needs a hash calculator.
A fast, lightweight hash calculator that runs entirely in your browser. Hash text or files with one click — nothing ever leaves your machine.
Supported algorithms:
• MD5 (128-bit)
• SHA-1 (160-bit)
• SHA-256 (256-bit)
• SHA-512 (512-bit)
Two modes:
• Text mode — type or paste any string and get all four hashes instantly
• File mode — drag and drop or browse to hash any file
Output formats:
• Hex (lowercase)
• Base64
• Grouped (space-separated pairs for easy reading)
Privacy first:
HashLab requests zero browser permissions. There are no background scripts, no service workers, no analytics, no telemetry, and no network calls — ever. Your data stays on your device.
Built for developers:
• One-click copy for individual hashes or all at once
• Full keyboard navigation and screen reader support
• Respects prefers-reduced-motion
• Clean, distraction-free interface
Under the hood:
SHA-1, SHA-256, and SHA-512 are computed using the browser's native Web Crypto API — hardware-accelerated where available. MD5 uses a bundled pure-JavaScript implementation (RFC 1321).
