Flashing News Search

Overview
News New Tab + Search replaces Chrome’s New Tab page with:
A centered search box for quick searches
A bottom “headlines bar” showing news items in clean, card-style tiles (with thumbnails when available)
Left/Right arrows to browse previously loaded batches and fetch a fresh batch of headlines
Headlines are fetched from:
api.news-headlines.co (configured endpoint)
Searches are redirected to:
trends.search-hub.co (configured endpoint)
How it works
When a new tab opens, the extension requests a list of headlines from the configured news endpoint and displays them in the bottom bar.
Clicking a headline opens the article (using the provided click URL or original URL).
Clicking the right arrow fetches a new batch of headlines (new API request).
Clicking the left arrow navigates back through previously fetched batches (no API request).
Entering a query in the search bar redirects to the configured search URL with your query.
Permissions justification
Host permissions: https://api.news-headlines.co/*
Required to fetch and display news headlines from the configured API endpoint on the New Tab page.
No other special permissions are requested.
Privacy (data usage)
This extension does not collect, sell, or share personal data.
News requests go directly from your browser to api.news-headlines.co.
Search queries are sent when you submit a search, by redirecting your browser to trends.search-hub.co with the query in the URL.
The extension does not store personal information. Previously fetched headline batches are kept only in memory for navigation during the session.
Single purpose
Provide a New Tab experience with quick search and a bottom news headlines strip.
