🔄 Cloud Sync (User-Controlled)
On first use, Fingnet presents a clear choice:

Cloud Sync — securely store your saved sentences (text, source URL, timestamp) on Supabase for cross-device access

Local Only — keep everything stored privately in your browser

You can switch between these modes anytime in Settings.
Nothing is uploaded unless you’ve explicitly enabled Cloud Sync.

AI Insights (Built-in)
Fingnet includes built-in AI that analyzes the text you choose to save in order to provide summaries and related themes. AI processing runs only on the content you explicitly submit (e.g., when you click “Save”), and all requests are sent over encrypted connections.

Explore shared topics and themes with other users who have opted in

All interactions are voluntary and limited to users who enable discovery features

Fingnet is built on a local-first and user-consent foundation.

Required Permissions

Storage — Save your sentences and settings locally

Active Tab — Access page content only when you save text

Context Menus — Add “Save to Fingnet” to the right-click menu

Scripting — Capture selected text precisely when you trigger “Save”

Optional Permissions

Identity — Used only when you enable Cloud Sync (Google Sign-In)

Notifications — Optional status or update alerts

Background — Maintain sync only while logged in

Alarms — Used for scheduled sync checks when Cloud Sync is active
