Overview
Extension Performance Monitor helps you review installed Chrome extensions and understand which ones may have higher browser impact.
The extension scans your installed extensions locally using Chrome-supported APIs, then creates an estimated impact score based on enabled state, website access, permissions, permission warnings, and extension configuration.
Chrome does not always expose exact CPU or RAM usage for each extension. This tool does not claim to measure exact CPU or memory usage. Scores are estimates designed to help you decide which extensions to review, disable, or keep.
Key features:
- Scan installed Chrome extensions
- View enabled and disabled extension counts
- See estimated impact scores from 0 to 100
- Review separate performance and privacy scores
- Understand permissions in plain English
- Identify broad website access such as `<all_urls>`
- View permission hotspots
- Find possible duplicate extension categories
- Label extensions as watch, trusted, or rarely used
- Enable or disable extensions from the report when Chrome allows it
- Export reports as CSV or JSON
- Store scan history locally
Privacy-first design:
All scans run locally in your browser. Your extension list is not sent to any server. The extension does not use analytics, tracking, ads, or remote APIs.
