EvidenceLens helps you think critically about scientific claims made in YouTube videos by cross-referencing them with published research papers.

**How it works:**
1. Open any YouTube video
2. Click "Verify Claims" to extract and fact-check empirical claims
3. Each claim is matched against a database of scientific publications
4. See verdicts (Supported, Refuted, Inconclusive) with cited papers and confidence scores

**Data & Privacy:**
This extension sends video transcripts to our backend server (api.evidence-lens.com) for AI-powered analysis using Google Gemini. No personal data is collected. Transcripts are processed in real-time and not stored. See our privacy policy for full details.

- activeTab: Access the current YouTube tab when you interact with the extension
- scripting: Extract video caption data from the YouTube page
