Etchmiadzin Holy See

The Etchmiadzin Cathedral is a cultural, spiritual and sacred destination for all. The word “Echmiadzin” in Armenian means “the origin of the unique being”. Legend has it that Saint Gregory the Illuminator, the first Christian among the Armenians, saw Jesus Christ descend from heaven and use his golden hammer to indicate the place where the church would be built.
