Overview
Echo is a media memory for your Mac. This companion extension lets the Echo app see what you play in your browser - YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, SoundCloud and more - so you can jump straight back to it later from anywhere on your Mac.
What it does
- Notices what's playing in your browser (the title, artist and artwork the site already publishes) and tells the Echo app, so it shows up in your history.
- Lets Echo resume a browser track or video for you - reopening the tab and picking up right where you left off.
Private by design
- Everything stays on your Mac. The extension talks ONLY to the Echo app running locally on your computer (over localhost). It never sends anything to any external server, and there is no tracking, no analytics, and no accounts.
Requirements
- The Echo app for Mac (this extension does nothing on its own). Get it at theodorehq.com/echo.
Open the extension's icon any time to check it's connected to the app.
