Overview

Makes any webpage easier to read for people with dyslexia — yellow background, navy blue text, open dyslexic font, and read-aloud capabilities.

WHAT IT DOES
• Switches all text to OpenDyslexic — a font specifically designed to reduce letter confusion for dyslexic readers
• Changes the background to a soft yellow/parchment colour, shown to reduce visual stress
• Sets text to dark navy blue for high but comfortable contrast
• Increases line spacing, letter spacing, and word spacing to reduce crowding
• Reads the page aloud using your browser's built-in speech engine
• Select any text first to hear just that section

HOW TO USE
1. Click the Dyslexia Helper icon in your toolbar
2. Press "Turn On" to apply reading mode to the current page
3. Press "▶ Read Page" to have the page read aloud
4. Your setting is remembered — every page loads in reading mode automatically

WHO IT'S FOR
Designed with children in mind, but helpful for anyone who finds standard web typography difficult to read.

PRIVACY
This extension stores only one setting (on/off) locally in your browser. It does not collect, transmit, or share any data.

Dyslexia Helper does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.

The only data stored by this extension is a single on/off preference, saved
locally in your browser using chrome.storage.sync. This preference is synced
across your own Chrome profile and is never sent to any external server.

No analytics, tracking, or advertising code is included in this extension.
