Donor Lens For Linkedin
View on Chrome Web StoreChrome will indicate if you already have this installed.
Overview
Donor Lens adds a small pill to LinkedIn profiles that summarizes the person's federal political donations, pulled live from FEC.gov.
What it shows
- Total itemized contributions ($200+) since 2016
- Lean: D / R / mixed / PAC-only, with a colored bar showing the split
- Top recipients (committees and candidates)
- Year range of contributions
How it works
- The extension reads the visible profile name and current location from the page you're already viewing.
- It queries the public FEC API for itemized individual contributions filed under that name.
- Matching is best-effort: name + state. Common names produce ambiguous results — the panel lets you adjust the state or refine the name to disambiguate.
Privacy
- No profile data leaves your browser except the name and state used to query the FEC API.
- The FEC API is a public US government service. No tracking, no analytics, no account.
- Lookups are cached locally so the same profile isn't queried twice.
Limitations
- Federal contributions only. State and local donations are not in FEC data.
- Only itemized contributions ($200+) are reported by the FEC.
- Name collisions exist. Always confirm with the person if the data matters.
