Overview
Know the climate risks before you buy.
Climate Risk - California displays free, educational climate hazard data for any California property listing — right in a Chrome side panel that sits alongside the page without modifying it.
Works on:
• Zillow • Redfin • Realtor.com • Trulia • Compass • and more
Current Conditions
• Wildfire — CAL FIRE Fire Hazard Severity Zones (State and Local Responsibility Areas)
• Flood — FEMA National Flood Hazard Layer (live API), current flood zone designation
Mid-Century Projections (2050s, RCP 8.5)
• Wildfire Probability — decadal fire occurrence probability from Cal-Adapt / UC Merced
• Projected Flood — FEMA Future Conditions (FC-FIRM), where mapped
• Extreme Heat — projected average maximum summer temperatures
• Extreme Heat Days — projected days above 95°F per year (from actual Cal-Adapt daily data)
• Extreme Precipitation — projected annual rainfall in inches
• Sea Level Rise — coastal vulnerability for applicable properties
The side panel shows an aggregate risk badge for each section and a headline "Now → 2050" summary so you can see at a glance how risk is expected to change.
