How it works:
Navigate to any article or blog post. Click the CleanRead icon. The page transforms into a clean reading view with proper typography, comfortable spacing, and nothing else. Click the icon again to return to the original page.

CleanRead uses carefully chosen typography with a 680-pixel content width, generous line height, and comfortable paragraph spacing. Text is set in a serif font optimized for long-form reading. Code blocks are displayed in monospace with a subtle background. The result is comparable to the best reading apps and e-readers.
Dark mode:
CleanRead automatically follows your system preference. If your operating system is set to dark mode, CleanRead renders in a dark theme with adjusted contrast ratios for comfortable reading. No toggle needed.
Privacy:
CleanRead operates entirely within your browser. No data is collected, stored, or transmitted. The article content is processed locally using Mozilla's open-source Readability library, the same engine that powers Firefox Reader View. Nothing leaves your device.
