Chameleon Adaptive Access
✨ AI-Powered View on Chrome Web StoreChrome will indicate if you already have this installed.
Overview
Chameleon makes the web work the way you need it to.
Built for people with motor, visual, cognitive, and reading-related accessibility needs, Chameleon adapts every website you visit to match your personal preferences — automatically, on every page, without per-site configuration.
— WHAT CHAMELEON DOES —
• Adaptive typography. Apply dyslexia-friendly fonts, increase line spacing, adjust letter spacing, and scale text across the whole web.
• Visual adjustments. Boost contrast, enlarge focus rings, and tune colors to match your visual needs.
• Focus mode. Reduce on-page distractions for users with ADHD or sensory-processing differences.
• Hands-free cursor (head-tracking). Move the cursor with your head and click by dwelling on a target. Camera frames are processed locally on your device — they never leave your computer. Powered by MediaPipe FaceLandmarker and Tracky Mouse, both bundled in the extension.
• Voice Click. Look at a button, then say "click" — the click fires at the cursor's current position. Pair with head-tracking for full hands-free control. Choose Dwell only, Voice only, or both via the Click Method selector.
• Voice tab commands. Say "next tab", "previous tab", "close tab", "new tab", or "tab 3" to navigate hands-free. When Chrome's on-device speech model is available, audio stays local; otherwise an explicit consent prompt appears before any audio is sent for transcription.
• AI image descriptions. Hover over an unlabeled image to get an automatically generated alt-text description. Skipped automatically for images that already have a meaningful alt or aria-label, so it never overrides accessible markup that's already there.
— HOW IT WORKS —
1. Install the extension and pin it to your toolbar.
2. Open the side panel and sign in to the Chameleon Hub at https://chameleon-orcin.vercel.app.
3. Set your accessibility preferences once. Chameleon applies them to every site you visit.
— PRIVACY —
• No analytics. No tracking. No selling data.
• Camera frames (head-tracking) are processed locally on your device by MediaPipe and Tracky Mouse. They never leave your computer.
• Voice commands use Chrome's standardized speech recognition. When the on-device speech model is available, audio is processed locally. Otherwise the extension shows an explicit, opt-in consent prompt before voice commands activate, so you always know which path is in use.
• AI alt-text uses Google's Gemini API only when you actively hover an image without an existing label.
