Overview
Built for debaters, CardCite is a free extension that provides formatted evidence citations for web pages and PDFs.
On any page, open CardCite from the puzzle piece icon at the top right of Chrome. CardCite automatically detects the publisher, date, author, and title, then formats them into a finished citation that's ready to copy and paste.
In the extension's settings, you can customize the citation, including the font size, your team name, and the order the details appear in. These changes are saved and applied to every citation you create.
It also includes source descriptions for over 600 major news outlets, think tanks, and government agencies, which are added to the citation automatically when the source is recognized. For a source that isn't included, you can save your own description once, and CardCite will remember it whenever you cite that source again.
