Business Central Pane Res

By default, the Factbox pane in Business Central’s Role Center is adjustable, but modern side panes like Help, Copilot, Inspection, and Personalization have fixed widths. This extension allows you to easily resize these fixed-width panes on any Dynamics 365 Business Central page.

When activated on a Business Central page, this extension places a slim, unobtrusive drag handle on the left side of each supported pane. Simply click and drag this handle left or right to adjust the pane's width in real-time. Your custom widths are automatically remembered across browsing sessions, ensuring a consistent experience tailored to your preference—no additional setup required.

This extension is ideal for any Business Central user who finds the default fixed-width side panels either too narrow or too wide, improving comfort and usability.

How does it work? Upon loading a page, the extension verifies you're on an appropriate Business Central domain and then applies either your saved pane widths or default settings. It seamlessly injects the drag handle into each eligible pane, dynamically overriding the pane's width as you adjust it. Your final pane width is saved instantly when you release your mouse.

By default, the extension runs only on official Dynamics 365 Business Central SaaS domains. However, advanced users can optionally grant access to additional self-hosted or sandbox environments (e.g., docker containers or partner tenants) via the Options page. Domains entered in options will prompt for explicit host permission, after which the same pane-resizing functionality will be enabled for those environments.

Required Permissions
Storage: To store your pane width preferences.
Host permissions: Active exclusively on businesscentral.dynamics.com domains.
Scripting: Used only to inject UI layout logic into Business Central pages on other domains explicitly approved by the user.
