Overview
Bullseye puts a mini fact-checker in your browser
Just highlight text and hit ⚡ Check fact. After a few seconds you'll see:
• Confidence score 0-100 – how strongly the web supports or contradicts the claim, based on source count, quality, consensus & recency.
• Supporting vs. contradicting sources are shown with titles, excerpts, and live links.
Why you might like it
• I wanted to stop hopping through ten tabs just to verify one statement.
• I wanted a score that sums up multiple quality signals.
• I wanted only the handful of links that really matter.
How it works in simple terms
• Only the text you select is sent (securely) to my API.
• It returns a plain JSON answer; the extension shows it in the panel.
• Nothing about you is saved on my server, results stay in your browser’s local storage.
Permissions kept to a minimum
• “ActiveTab” to inject the button.
• “Storage” to keep the last result if you close the panel accidentally.
• A single host permission for my own API endpoint.
Roadmap
• Image OCR fact-checking
• Exportable fact-check reports
• Optional crowd-sourced “Is this helpful?” voting
