Business Network Buyer API Overview
The Business Network Buyer API provides SAP customers with secure, programmatic access to their account on the SAP Business Network. This allows customers to integrate their internal systems directly with their daily SAP Business Network activities.
Core Capabilities and Accessed Interfaces
The API is designed to support the most frequently used day-to-day applications and interfaces within the SAP Business Network. By accessing this API, customers can view and manage key transaction data:
Document Type Access Scope
Purchase Orders - Header and Item-level details
Ship Notices - Header and Item-level details
Invoices - Header
Simple Setup and Integration
Accessing the API is designed to be straightforward for SAP customers:
Credential Update: The user must update their API application credentials within the Profile Management section of their SAP account.
Immediate Access: Once credentials are set, the user can immediately begin accessing the SAP Business Network API interfaces to retrieve and interact with their Purchase Orders, Ship Notices, and Invoices.
Data Security and Storage
The API prioritizes user data security, particularly concerning credentials:
Local Storage: User credential information is stored exclusively in the browser's local storage (e.g., Chrome Local Storage).
No Remote Storage: Crucially, this means the credentials are not stored on any remote servers, enhancing data privacy and security.
Exports are available for the Profile management section to backup the credentials information.
Excel export available for the data fetched through API for any of the interfaces.
Json export also available to dig into the the response received for API call.
