Overview
To understand your world, you must first understand your "self." The Belief Genome is a research tool that lets you answer short belief probes and syncs your responses to the Belief Genome Project website and (optionally) the Mission Control desktop app, so you can build a personal cognitive map without leaving the browser.
How it works:
Each intellectual probe is a single statement about philosophy, religion, psychology, society, or daily life. Slide a confidence indicator from "Absolute False" to "Absolute True" and submit. Over time, your responses build a 265-character Belief Genome serial that captures both what you believe and how coherently you hold those beliefs across framing pairs.
Three ways to use it:
- Standalone — answer probes from the popup; the extension ships with a 135-probe starter bank, no account required.
- With your beliefgenomeproject.org account — sync responses to your profile and view your Belief Genome on the website.
- With Mission Control desktop app — pair locally over localhost:7337 for richer DNA visualization, lineage tracking, and integration with other belief-data tools.
Your data, your control:
- All responses are stored locally first; you choose whether to sync.
- Demographic prefix is optional and lives only on your device.
- No tracking, no analytics, no third-party scripts.
- Privacy policy: https://beliefgenomeproject.org/privacy
Built by David Edwin Meyers and Ovadeus LLC. The Belief Genome Project is independent research — your responses contribute to anonymous, aggregate maps of human belief, never linked to your identity.
