Overview
BAPS new tab replaces Chrome’s default new tab with Swami ni Vaato.
FEATURES
• Swami ni Vaato — Gujarati text with English meaning and transliteration.
• Serene background images that accompany each new tab.
• Verse order: read sequentially through the collection or shuffle randomly.
• Favourites — save verses to revisit (stored only on your device).
• Wallpaper-only mode — hide all verse text and use randomized wallpapers only, if you prefer a quiet tab.
• Simple settings from the gear icon on the new tab page.
HOW YOUR DATA IS HANDLED
The extension saves your preferences (verse order, position, favourites, display mode, background-related choices) using Chrome’s local storage API. That information stays on your computer. This extension does not require an account, does not send your reading choices to the developer’s servers, and does not include advertising or analytics as part of the extension.
TECHNICAL NOTE
The new tab page may load web fonts from Google Fonts when you open a tab; verse text and bundled images load from the extension itself. Replacing the new tab page is required for this type of extension.
WHO IT’S FOR
Anyone who wants a brief moment of reflection or Swami ni Vaato when opening a new tab in Chrome.
