Overview
Amazon is designed to make spending invisible. One tap to Buy Now. One tap to Place Order. Your monthly total, three clicks deep. Amazon Pause puts that spend back where you can see it, and adds a cooling-off period before large purchases so you can actually decide.
What Amazon Pause does
• Shows a small, calm widget on every Amazon page with your month-to-date spend and your budget.
• Adds a Subscribe & Save line so you can see what's quietly recurring every month.
• On Buy Now and Place Order over a price you pick, shows a brief overlay explaining why. You can start a hold or cancel — there is no "buy anyway" button.
• When the hold expires, Amazon Pause asks if you still want it. You make the call with a rested head.
Your data stays on your machine
• No accounts, no servers, no tracking.
• Amazon Pause never sends data anywhere. Ever.
• Your orders, holds, and settings live in your browser profile only.
• One click to export everything as JSON. One click to clear it all.
What Amazon Pause never touches
• Your cart, shipping address, or payment method.
• Your Amazon login or cookies.
• Any page outside amazon.com and amazon.co.uk.
Amazon Pause adjusts how long the cooling-off period is based on where you are in your monthly budget — a light nudge when you're spending carefully, a harder brake when you're overspending. All durations are configurable.
Works on amazon.com and amazon.co.uk. More regions in a future update.
