This extension uses a powerful, multi-layer defense system to keep your browsing clean, fast, and safe:

Layer 1: Network Blocking Instantly blocks known pop-up, ad, and scam domains at the network level using declarativeNetRequest. This is the fastest defense, stopping threats before they even load.

Layer 2: Script Interception Neutralizes tricky overlays (like fake video "Play" buttons or "You've won" messages) that try to force open a new tab. It cleverly intercepts these window.open calls without breaking the website.

Layer 3: Redirect Chasing For the sneakiest pop-ups that slip through (like about:blank redirects), our event-driven background script monitors the new tab and closes it instantly if it redirects to a suspicious URL.

It's lightweight, privacy-first (it never reads your history), and gives you a simple On/Off switch. No complicated setup, just effective blocking.

This is a massive update focused on performance and reliability.

NEW - 'Layer 2' Script Interception: Added a new content script that intelligently neutralizes deceptive on-page elements (like fake video players) that try to trick you into opening a pop-up.

OPTIMIZED - 'Layer 3' Redirect Chaser: Rebuilt the background script from the ground up! We've moved from a setTimeout (polling) method to a 100% event-driven model (tabs.onUpdated).

RESULT: The extension is now significantly faster, more reliable, and uses virtually zero CPU. It catches redirects instantly, eliminating the "race condition" of the old version.

UI: Simplified the interface to a single On/Off toggle for maximum ease of use.
