Most AccessFix features run locally in your browser, with file content never leaving your device. AI-powered features (alt-text generation, scanned PDF conversion, image conversion, and legacy-format conversion) require sending file content to AccessFix's processing service and onward to our AI processing partner — content is automatically deleted within 30 days and is not used to train AI models. AccessFix is designed for course materials and other non-sensitive documents; we recommend not uploading tax forms, medical records, FERPA-protected student records, or other personally identifiable information. AccessFix automatically fixes the most common accessibility issues in digital documents. It does not guarantee full WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliance. Some issues including scanned images, colour contrast, and reading order require human review and cannot be fixed automatically. AccessFix is not legal advice and does not guarantee ADA or Section 508 compliance. Maximum recommended file size is 50MB. Files containing embedded audio or video may not convert correctly. PDF forms and documents with complex visual layouts may not retain their original structure after conversion. Scanned documents containing scientific notation, Greek symbols, or handwritten annotations should be reviewed after conversion for completeness. When images are converted from scanned PDFs, AI-generated alt text is provided as text — the original image will not reappear in the converted document. Users remain responsible for ensuring their course materials meet applicable accessibility standards. License keys are non-refundable once issued. Page credits do not expire.
